Welcome to the
Aylesbury District Voluntary Group for Diabetes UK, registered charity
No. 215199. Diabetes UK web site - see
www.diabetes.org.uk. If you have
diabetes, are caring for someone with diabetes or would just like to
help us raise funds for Diabetes UK, then we hope you will join us. We
usually meet every other month on the first Thursday of the month for a social gathering;
usually at 8pm in the Community Centre, Eskdale Road, Stoke Mandeville. The
programme is varied and there is often a speaker as well as time for an
informal chat over tea and biscuits. For more details – see

Have you signed up yet to the new Diabetes UK campaign "Get Serious" Check it out on their website at www.diabetes.org.uk/GetSerious Could you help students at the De Montfort University by taking part in their survey. You must have type 1 or type 2 diabetes and be using insulin. The survey is completely anonymous but will take about 15-20 minutes to complete. Click to their website at www.dmu.ac.uk/diabetes

What's on this month! Our meetings are now being held at the Community Centre, Eskdale Road, Stoke Mandeville until further notice. There are no meetings in August. Our next meetings are as below: Thursday 2nd September - Talk by Frank Moxon from Diabetes UK "Our achievements and plans for the future" This meeting is open to all. Thursday 16th September - Collection at Tesco Stores, Tring Road, Aylesbury. Collectors needed. Wednesday 6th & Thursday 7th October - Collection at Tesco Store, Broadfields, Aylesbury. Collectors needed. Thursday 4th November - "What Diabetes Care to expect" Talk by a member of Diabetes UK South East office team. Thursday 2nd December - Christmas Social and quiz. 8pm Gazebos
We urgently need you! Although we meet socially as a group, one of our primary objectives is to raise money for Diabetes UK. We do this in a number of different ways and we need your help with all of them. Please see our fundraising page or join our group. You don't have to be diabetic - just keen to help us ! |
